Battle of the Studios Update!

The Boles Studio and The Piano School
will battle it out on October 21, 2012!
Here is a quick update on Battle of the Studios 2012...

Mrs. Boles and I had a blast during our photo shoot this afternoon. We laughed between every shot! But I am sensing a determination on her part to win the studio battle again this year! Please help! The Piano School students have got to turn out in big numbers to topple the Boles Studio this year. I'm really happy that many of you have already committed and marked your calendars in red. Thank you! Bring another student! But not one of Mrs. Boles's :).

One mother asked me if her child would have to play anything at Battle of the Studios. The answer is...definitely not! We are treating you guys to a concert of music which was selected especially for you. There will be a few surprises and fun twists, so you're sure to have a good time.

OCTOBER 21, 2012
3:00 in the afternoon
New Hope Presbyterian Church

The program has been tweaked a bit, too. Expect to hear a few things from a certain pirate movie, a Lady Gaga piece the way Bach would do it, something a little reminiscent of Christmas, and a bit more. All fun stuff. The entire thing should take 45 minutes.

Some of you have asked how the scoring will work, so here is an explanation: The studio with the highest percentage of currently enrolled students at the concert wins. We do not have the same number of students in our studios, so to make it absolutely fair, we use the percentage method.

For example, if 15 students from The Boles Studio and 15 students from The Piano School attend, that would NOT be a tie. It would be 60% of The Boles Studio's enrollment, but 33% of The Piano School's enrollment. Even if we win the head count, we won't necessarily win the coveted "Bragging Rights" trophy. We would have to have 27 students in attendance to get a score of 60%. See how it works? Bottom line, every student really counts.

I hope you can be there!
